Ashley and Steve were married at St. John's Catholic Church in Old Saybrook. The wedding was attended by over 200 of their closest friends and family including fellow Marine colleagues of Steve who, outside the church, formed a sword arch, befitting for the Memorial Day weekend.The Reception, held at The Riverhouse in Haddam, was decorated in navys and golds but softened by tall centerpieces of light blue hydrangeas and yellow sunflowers on each guest table. Guest favors consisted of paperweight compasses that also served as escort cards. The couples love of boating brought on a nautical theme that was carried throughout the space in small details - nautical rope around each votive candle, GOBO compass projected on the dancefloor and even the candy buffet was displayed with colors of the ocean.
